Some of them you’ve seen on TV, in movies or playing your favorite sport on the field; the others are in government or caring for sick children in Uganda, and you’ve never heard of them…but they are the Generation-Y “twenty-somethings.” We try to honor the notable, famous and inspirational characters of our generation here, to share their accomplishments and their stories.
Christian Olsson: Olympic Athlete
Swedish athlete and Olympian Gold Medalist Christian Olsson has made many strides as a Generation-Y athlete. Olsson had his international breakthrough in 2001 when he won silver at the 2001 World Championships in Athletics.
He has overcome injuries and rehabilitation in his career to be a shining light of athleticism, despite not being able to participate in the 2008 Olympics, he did carry the Swedish flag. Recently, he competed and won the high jump at the 2009 Swedish Championships in Malmo.
