Generation-Y Spotlight: Jo Swinson

Some of them you’ve seen on TV, in movies or playing your favorite sport on the field; the others are in government or caring for sick children in Uganda, and you’ve never heard of them…but they are the Generation-Y “twenty-somethings.” We try to honor the notable, famous and inspirational characters of our generation here, to share their accomplishments and their stories.

Jo Swinson: Youngest MP

Jo Swinson (MP)Known for her environmental passions and women’s progression efforts, Swinson is the first Member of Parliament born during the 1980s. As the youngest MP, she is informally known as “Baby of the House.”

Swinson has an educational and profession background in Marketing, PR and Management.

According to Swinson’s page, she enjoys outdoor activities including hiking and most notably marathon runs. She most recently completed The Beatson Pebble Appeal Half Marathon in 2009.
